The spirit of the evil Dr. Mabuse takes over the body of a famous professor. The professor/Dr. Mabuse then begins a new crime wave that terrorizes the city.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that the last two Mabuse films had the involvement of an Argentinian. Honestly? The most entertaining one yet after the lang trilogy, and definitely the funniest one. The directing is actually solid, with some really interesting oners, and the performances are really charming (it’s really funny seeing Klaus Kinsky as a normal chatacter, and it’s always great to have Werner Peters in these). Not so sure if writing the main character as someone with Oedipus complex is a good thing, and the script is pretty stupid, but a great watch nonetheless.
Update: So just the last one was directed by the Argentinian (Fregonese)… that was disappointing
