now that i realize how many varitations of a serpentine or flower or lotus dance that alice guy-blaché has, i also realize that this was her version of when a painter does self portraits over and over and over again.

i much prefer this to guy's serpentine dance. it's the technically superior take, presenting the dancer in a much more graceful light, too, where the other dancer seems to glomping about for the fun of it. which is fine and darling!
