I was about to go into fight-or-flight when I saw a blonde Dan Aykroyd.This movie is fucking weird. My friend recommended this movie because of John Belushi, and I certainly didn't know it would be this bizarre. I expected a regular comedy, but got a weird critique of repeittive nature of regular life. It isn't the smartest movie, but I was never bored watching it. John Belushi plays the straight man so well, and unlike 'The Great Outdoors', where I felt bad for John Candy's character for having to deal with Dan Aykroyd's shit, but here I enjoyed watching him slowly descend into madness. The supporting cast plays their parts well enough to support Belushi. Aykroyd is hilarious, and Cathy Moriarty was fun to watch. This is such a bizarre movie that it shouldn't work. This movie feels like a comedy wearing a Hitchcockian thriller trenchcoat. There are moments from the direction that make it feel like a thriller, and honestly heped sell the decisions made by Earl later on in the movie. This movie is so unadulteratedly out there, hilarious, and bizarrely directed that it would be endlessly watchable; This is absolutely going on my guilty Pleasures list.
