It took me a while to get through the first half, but the 2nd half got me interested.
Honestly, it’s kinda hard to comment on this because this felt more like an action/thriller than the usual Death Note story (better-so than the Netflix adaptation).
I kinda found it interesting with this new approach with L. He does detective work in the source material as a form of recreation, but it seems like with a countdown to the end of his life, 2 adoptive children, and the will to carry Watari’s vision of the future - this was able to humanise him.
I liked that ending with him walking off across the bridge, but the inner fanboy in me kinda wished that Ryuuk had made some kinda cameo (he didn’t have to talk, but maybe just watch L’s final day on Earth).
