The direction is horrible and i mean it, worst direction ive seen in a movie so far, the script isn't much better killing the only 2 likeable characters halfway through the movie was a huge mistake. I strongly considered turning off the movie halfway through it was just so boring i couldn't believe it, i just i really have no words, the final battle or whatever it was supposed to be was one of the worst thing sin cinema. Finally watched the sequel to what’s probably my fave film of all time, and while it wasn’t as bad as I expected, it was still a huge let down.

The first ~30 minutes were so intriguing and I was excited to see what they would do with Jim’s PTSD. And then he dies after the first 30 minutes and the film just nosedives and becomes a bad remake. 15 years after the original film, jim kills someone at work and gets fired, him and his girlfriend go to texas to try and relax a little. jim gets ptsd as a hitchhiker wants to get in the car and refuses to let him, but maggie has other plans and decides to let him in. jim gets a vision and kicks him out the car with a gun against his head. a cop pull them over and the hitchhiker kills the cop, and then he kills jim. maggie is left to fend for herself and tries her best to avenge her late boyfriend. she wakes up in an abandoned water tower and the hitchhiker torments her. maggie gets framed for all the murders and jim is treat as an innocent, later they both escape and maggie chases him down in a airplane and they crash. maggie shoots the tanker and the place explodes. this was literally exactly the same as an original, except it’s modernised gender swapped and slighly less dreamy. it kinda lacks the charm of the original even if that film isn’t my favourite. this is a trashy rehashed direct to video version of the story that isn’t greatly acted or really offer anything new. it’s nice for a simplistic watches and has a nice yellow hue on the camera but honestly just stick to the original.
