This is a fine movie its nothing insane but its a nice mecha movie with some interesting world building, its fun and and has some great scenes but its more just setup for the real shit

“Reject common sense to make the impossible possible!”
This approach also makes for an incredibly funny and outrageous movie! Two brothers and a bunch of head ass mechs. One of which is powered by the human emotion and will power of a teenage boy lol
Haven’t seen the anime but had a blast catching the Gurren Lagann double header with some of the crew at Hollywood as part of Animayhem PDX’s Mecha Panic series.

A amazing retelling of the first half of the anime but still reminds me why gurren lagann is my second favorite anime of all time and also that Kamina is the best brothers in anime. Kamina and Simon are such a loveable duo together and the way they bounce off and unknowingly motivate each other is amazing to see. I know because of it’s a movie and pacing that they rush through all the side characters and that’s fine just wish they at least had some of the dialogue in while doing it so you know the characters names at least as you go for newer viewers but besides that the film was amazing and it made me so happy to hear and see team Gurren Lagann on the screen.
