i watched this movie with the intent of thristing over andrew scott and this movie is so bad i can’t even do that. and maybe it’s not that bad but i hate it.
first and foremost none of these moments feels connected or deserved. their brotherly camaraderie felt so forced and weird. like why do they become friends? i don’t understand. the emotional blow ups are boring and fizzle to nothing.
the character “the machine” (who’s name is so stupid it makes me want to hurl) is unredeemable, not just because he’s misogynistic and homophobic, but because the writers did no work to make him likable. he comes in as this figure who is supposed to be the one who brings them out of their shells, but he’s so gross and awful that it doesn’t work.
the most compelling part of this film was a single shot that depicted the machine with stag horns that felt infinitely more interesting than whatever bullshit had happened for the 75 minutes the preceded it.
