I'm on a quest to watch every single 2000s fantasy movie ever right now, which is how I stumbled upon this forgotten piece of phantastical cinema. For some reason, I wasn't even remotely aware of this when it originally came out. This movie has some of the most hilariously bad overdubs I've ever seen, a paper-thin and derivative plot and cookie cutter characters. Strangely enough, its frenzied visual style does make it stand out among the other YA fantasy movies from that era. It constantly bombards the viewer with sweeping camera movements, close-ups, slow-mos and completely unnecessary dutch angles that are even harder to follow thanks to the breakneck speed of the editing. It's not good at all, but I do have to admit that the batshit crazy pacing of some of the scenes entertained me a lot.
