For the first half, I thought The Five was gonna push I Saw the Devil off the position of being my favourite South Korean thriller. Unfortunately, the ending left me wanting more. Everything else was masterful, but no one and nothing can compare to the ferociousness and level of terror that Kyung-chul has made me feel. The Five's Oh Jae-wook started off so promising and so malevolent, until we find out he had a weakness and oh boy what a lame ass weakness that turned out to be. Kyung-chul was just..... The Devil himself. Which makes him a far better villain, so in a way, the "revenge" aspect in The Five did not feel as accomplished. Another thing that bugged me was the music, it felt off in more than several occasion and was quite distracting, even, at some points. The Five is still a first-rate South Korean revenge thriller, and even if you've seen a handful of them, this is still something I'd recommend.
