This feels a bit fever dreamy
I’m not entirely sure how I felt about this
I definitely got something from it, looked nice and was a decently engaging story but the bar just felt so low
Weirdly it’s lingering in my mind a bit I’m not sure why

This feels very stereotypical for this era and place of Japanese cinema even down the film stock used
I feel like this was some weird toilet seat product of the Zatoichi films and transferring chanbara flicks into colour too
There’s some obsession with close ups that to me doesn’t seem present in Kato’s non colour stuff ? Am I bugging idk maybe
But I don’t like it one bit
That said there was a point about a third in where this kind of locked in and hooked me real bad
Then it kind of lost it
Overall most of this looked really dorky and kind of goofy
Nakamura’s character design SUCKED I acc hated seeing him on screen
felt like watching Revenge for the first time again

Pretty disappointed
Everything was sub par tbh but then stuck some weird kind of landing where it’s really festering with me
