Interesting to think this came out the same year as Pedro Costa's Blood. While Costa's later work would embrace slow cinema more fully, this was ahead of the curve. Playing as some abstract non-narrative connecting everything from mythology to astronomy, the film is affirmatively an experiential one. The big downside, for me at least, is the copy I watched was in almost unwatchable condition. I'm confident my rating can only rise if I were able to see this again in better shape. Despite the quality, I could still feel some of the impact of these beautiful shots.
This has shot up to the top of films I hope some day become available in better quality. It absolutely deserves exposure and recognition.
