What an absolutely riveting documentary. I’m left wondering how I should feel towards the subject. It’s a fascinating look at religion and how one man used it, for better or worse, to help while his community fought against him. Were they in the wrong? Was he? So many ways to think about it. In the end it’s a sad story which doesn’t have a happy ending. I was torn as to what to feel about this pastor’s actions. It seemed at times reckless and questionable but at his core I don’t think he felt that way, I think he truly believed in what he was doing, had faith that his actions were those that god would endorse. I don’t even know what else to say about it. Just watch it and see how you feel about it.
