thanks, i love it <3
this is like a modern Ozu film with the father-daughter roles reversed, where the father is the one taking care of the daughter until she leaves the house and also he is the one looking to get married lol
and all the melodrama is replaced with wholesome comedy fluff
for such a short and simple film, it is actually quite thought provoking and impactful. and i am in love with Yamashita's filmmaking aesthetic. the minimal quality may seem mundane but it allows for so much room to breath and adds a lot of value to the film and its characters.
