Fun little cheesy sci-fi flick that happens to take place in my state! Seeing an action scene in downtown Des Moines felt so awesome (definitely paused quite a bit to spot some recognizable buildings, think I spotted my old place!)

This is a classic terrible movie that’s actually perfect. A sci-fi thriller about alien sting-ray brain slugs that are super gross and very easy to spot. It’s so much fun, so stupid and just a great watch. 3 stars is good (sometimes)!

I wrote a paper in college about how this is the phallic counter to the vaginal Body Snatchers movies and I definitely didn’t cover that idea as deeply as I could’ve. I think this is sunk by the leads and some janky effects but I’m itching for more of this era’s alien schlock now…
