at first look, this seems like a really terrible sequel from a low budget series. but this actually millions times better than its predecessor.
It actually has a personality, the previous film felt like a friday the 13th rip off but this one seems to have found its footing. the idea of a movie set in the woods is a pretty simplistic idea for a slasher, but it manages to work in this 70 minute direct to video horror. it expands on the first film but manages to make every element better. better characters which have more depth, really cool deaths especially the one when a throat gets slashed straight through her mouth. the acting definitely isn’t award worthy but it really is an improvement. the tension is a lot more developed and the plot twist is actually quite unpredictable. I probably like this a lot better than I should, but it beats the original 2000 times over, the clown mask looks a lot more ominous and there’s definitely great one liners. and adrienne is an amazing character. this film definitely still suffers with horror cliches and a extremely low budget but the positive massively outweighs the bad.
