It definitely had the feel of a crowd-funded YouTuber movie: passable acting, awful effects, and corny humor. Beyond the CGI, there isn't really anything terrible here, but there isn't really anything good either. There are a few twists on the very cliché story, but it's a lot of set up for very little payoff; it actually feels more like this entire movie only exists to set up a sequel. I understand that the target audience is Rooster Teeth fans and that's not me (I really only knew Garrett from Superstore and Alan Ritchson from Blue Mountain State), so I wasn't playing "Oooooh! I know that person" the whole time. For me, it's the equivalent of some buddies making a movie in their backyard over a long weekend, but the "buddies" are adults and they have a 2.4 million dollar budget.
