Mockingbird Don't Sing

the first half it was alright, no complaints but it just not that good. then the second half comes around it starts building up. i pushed it up from 2,5 to a 3 here. the last 20 minutes things start falling into place and the issues i had at the start are now making sense as stylistic choices. i bump it up to a 3,5 and then at the end i cried so it's only fair for a 4 star rating. 

i'm going to recommend this film to my linguistics teachers on monday

This movie made me so utterly uncomfortable from the very first minute to the very last. I also know that I was supposed to feel that way watching it. It's a very raw and difficult film to sit through. There are certain things that I don't feel politically correct in this movie. Although, I am capable to understand that it was made that way for a reason. It was meant to show things people normally look away from.

I'm giving this 4 stars, not because I enjoyed watching it but because I recognize that I wasn't meant to enjoy it.

this film really didn’t have good character development, and didn’t portray the plot well at all. we watched this in my intro to behavioral science class, and although the story is very sad, this film does a horrible job of really connecting us to some of the characters. the only good part about this movie is when katie slaps the toddler
