There isn't a world in which this is a good movie, but I have to give it some credit for trying. The story is nothing, the characters have no personality, and it feels like one of the longest hours of my life, but the acting is actually kind of okay, the editing is creative (so are a few story beats), and the gore and practical effects are very fun (none of them are going to trick anybody, but they look very good for the budget). Even though this is a 2002 release, it feels very much like something from the era of the Polonia brothers where any dipshit could buy a handheld camcorder and make a "movie" with their friends over a weekend. Hell's Highway is a little better in quality than those (the practical effects aren't Hollywood grade, but whoever did them has some real talent), but not by much.
