When you're out in the weeds with your criticism of society, you can be forced to incorporate hippie/lefty ideas even if you're a libertarian ex-cop. Still, the weepy call for community and the breezy dismissal of alternative energy options and solutions to society's collapse ultimately lands on "money is bad, buy gold instead." Plus, it over-extends to the point you're left feeling like it's omitting a ton of stuff. There are good points and I think docs like this are interesting to watch years later. Not because they're quaintly incorrect about which of the world's problems will be centered in the future: sure, no pandemic stuff because ecological concerns are not handled well in this, but we are dealing with oil-related geopolitical conflict currently (and for the foreseeable future). Rather, it's nice to see how slowly things are falling apart and maybe hear some remedies that aren't as fashionable or have been spoiled by association with conspiracy theorists, reactionaries, etc. Not a bad idea to buy some seeds.
