I'm not sure how much of that I'm expected to follow. Today, that would be a two and a half hour movie and while I wouldn't be stoked about the extra hour, at least it would slow down and explain things. This felt like a series of events with very little connective tissue. From scene to scene, I had no idea what they were talking about and how they learned what they knew. It's a bunch scenes that only exist to drop new information and by the end I retained very little; I'm not even sure who half if the characters are. Thjs version could work as a companion to the novel, but without pre-existing knowledge, I was real lost. Most of the acting was pretty good and the sets were fine, but it didn't work for me overall.
