The direction that Joe D’Amato takes the Emanuelle series continues to have her go all around the world busting scandals and human trafficking rings, but still fails to capture the eroticism and sensuality of the two Albertini films that came earlier in the series, save for a small handful of scenes. The dichotomy between “good” sex and “perverse” sex is made so blatantly clear that this time around even Emanuelle takes part in the “perverse” (although with a body double for Gemser, putting her character’s actions in line with the scene around her). The problem with this, however, is that D’Amato uses perversion as a crutch for a barely held together story. The saving grace, as always, is Gemser herself, although this time with a fellow reporter by the name of Cora Norman, played by Karin Schubert. The balance between the perverse and the erotic is only really handled by whether or not Emanuelle is the focus. Nothing as terrible as the bestiality or rape that happens to the trafficked girls ever happens to her, but with the sheer amount of sexual violence, it is hard to tell if D’Amato himself is making a distinction between the pornographic and the erotic, as the shock value of it all is still more tame than what came before in Emanuelle in America.
At least we all can agree that nofap weirdos should be ignored
