I can’t believe they almost cast Marilyn for this! (No shade to Marilyn, of course.) Marilyn would’ve made the character feel too obvious, whereas Audrey didn’t. With Audrey, we don’t immediately feel that this is an adult-themed story; she brought a sense of innocence to the character. Marilyn would’ve just made it about being sexy.(Again no hate to her)
Also, I can’t believe they almost scrapped the scene where Audrey sang River Moon. That was one of my favorite parts of the film! I’m so glad Audrey stood her ground and made sure it stayed in. 😭
