As someone born in April, Thingyan Festival has always felt deeply personal to me. Plus, it’s my favorite Burmese festival. During Thingyan, people splash water on each other, which symbolizes washing away mistakes, bad luck and negativity from the past year so that the new year begins clean. Our whole country celebrates it with joyful spirits.
Families gather together during the holiday, sharing time that everyday life often takes away. Free food is everywhere, and our neighborhood streets are filled with children’s laughter. Happy Thinggyan Festival, Everyone.
ကလေးတွေကို ပျော်ခွင့်ပေးလို့လည်း ကျေးဇူးပါ ကိုငြိမ်းမောင်
( Ps: While watching this, I feel incredibly proud to be Burmese )
