Watching this in 2026 makes me happy to see that Bollywood chose such a realistic, dark theme/story back in 2014. Especially the choice of some shots being filmed in a very dreadful way adds to the realism of the gruesome activities done by s*x traffickers.
Rani Mukerji’s performance is great for the most part, especially in the dialogue delivery. However, the unnecessary shouting/yelling after every punch/kick seems fabricated and not natural to her character’s casual, flamboyant dialogue delivery. It just takes you out of the moment and makes it look like you’re watching a different character.
Tahir Raj Bhasin is amazing as the laid-back, quiet but evil antagonist. His performance makes you hate his character. Also, it was nice to see the makers give a tribute to one of the best American TV shows. Loved it when it was revealed that the antagonist is a fan of the lead character of that show.
The climax might be very Bollywood-esque. But overall, a good watch.
