Endgame loses the plot so often that it’s entertaining in its own right, I feel. The crapsack post-apocalypse feels like it is made of several disparate worlds. There’s mutants, fascist governments, abandoned cityscapes, psychics, and televised death shows. These are all parts that end up lesser than their sum wholly because of how haphazardly they are stuck to one another. At the very least D’Amato still has a bit of flair to his filmwork. His love for makeup effects really does shine a bit - that is when it’s actually present. Otherwise the relatively short runtime feels like it goes on for forever and no amount of Laura Gemser on screen can save that.
