I can see why this has so many comparisons to Joker, as it not only has similar plot points and conclusions, but it also suffers from many of the same issues: long stretches of repetitive nothingness and underwritten/unexplored side plots. Patton Oswalt is great though, and it gets bumped up half a star from Joker because I like football significantly more than I like clowns.
