I'd gone in fairly blind to Partisan, seeing the trailer once, last year. I chose it mainly because of Veincent Cassel.
I'm not sure what to make of it to be honest. The film doesn't have much of a beginning or an end, though we can work out these details. There is not much reason for the events that unfold in the film.
Oddly Cassel doesn't really put in a strong performance but he has great screen presence as always, which makes up for that (in this case at least). Jeremy Chabriel is superb as his (sort of) son and protégé.
I had high hopes for Partisan but in all honesty, it didn't deliver and I found my attention wandering at several points, even on a small 1hr 38m film.
