*This is the best I have seen of Riki-Oh Saiga so far!

The film states a far more emotional and deeper tone than the first. The beginning already digs deep and is insanely good. The entire backstory of Riki and his brother is well executed but still lacked emotions, it has the right approach but doesn't get to the right finish point.

The strongest aspect here, is the writing and well constructed storyline, it sets ground for better villains, more depth to the characters and a purpose.
It somehow still manages to be too fast and leave a lot unexplained or unexplored.

This had so much potential but sadly wasted it, *still a whole lot of better than the other 2 movies concerning Riki-Oh.

This one tries to do way too much. The action and violence remain standouts but now it’s trying to reach Akira/Evangelion levels of mythology. There just isn’t enough runtime to cover the ground it wants to. It would be one thing if this was solely about Ricki and his brother, Nachi. However, it tries to add in some sort of governmental conspiracy for global genocide while traveling to space and returning. It’s a huge mess. Even the action is hampered by its connection to things we’re supposed to care about. Two new characters are introduced who are quickly dispatched but somehow, we’re supposed to believe Ricki cares about them. There are at least three movies within this movie. They’re all compromised and nothing ends up mattering. Big letdown.
