Ignoring 1977s “Return to Boggy Creek”, with which he had no affiliation, Charles B. Pierce made a sequel to his 1972 box office hit “The Legend of Boggy Creek” following a university professor and three of his students who venture into the wilderness in search of the Boggy Creek Monster.
Pierce himself considered this to be his worst film and without even having seen most of his work, I can confidently say that he was spot-on.
“Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues” aka “The Barbaric Beasts of Boggy Creek, Part II” is a bad film. Very bad. A massive downgrade from the really fun, well made and effective original film.
Cinematography and score are not as great as in the original and the film doesn’t manage to be interesting for a second. It is incredibly boring and from its 91 minute runtime, at least 80 minutes feel like filler. It’s literally sooo boring. The performances are pretty terrible too and the writing is just plain bad.
There is almost nothing redeemable about this film. I like the poster tho.
