An interesting movie. I think for the time that this movie was released during it was groundbreaking. Crazy to think it got such harsh criticism from male critics and even was lost for ten years. One of the first femininst films in Germany and I can see the inspiration from new wave surrealist french films. One thing I didn’t love is that the women did not escape the constraints of patriarchy and it fits into the sad woman trope, but for it’s time it was cutting edge. Four archetypes, plus the greek mythology references paired with the color choices and symbolism of the flowers. Impressive
