Also where the fuck did that giant octopus come from😭😭 so many things happen in this movie and they never explain how the hell it works. Like how did the Japanese steal the heart from the Nazis, but it somehow was in Frankenstein’s chest when they found him? How did he get it back??💀

I can't help but smile at this era of kaiju film which was dead set on chasing the popularity of the concept and working with whoever could make it all happen. The relatively-simple-by-todays-standards visual effects are charming to look at even when not Godzilla-flavored. The goofiness of Nazis passing off the still-beating heart of Frankenstein's monster to the Japanese where it got caught in the blast at Hiroshima is honestly very endearing and while the energy tends to ebb and flow in an uncomfortable way at times, the final few moments are a definite crowd-pleaser for sheer wtf factor alone
