“Do you know what you remind me of? A Viennese waltz. Smiling but melancholy. A melody of the days when Vienna was a happy city.”
An American remake of the Swedish film of the same name, Intermezzo: A Love Story is the Hollywood debut of one of my favorite actresses of all time, Ingrid Bergman, who also starred in the Swedish version as well.
A story original for its time, a man who falls in love and runs off with his daughter’s piano teacher (Ingrid Bergman). It’s a product of its time, with many awkward cuts and lines, but I did enjoy watching it.
