This was what got me excited for this show in the first place because I was a Matheson devotee. Sorry, Tobe, this is a god awful adaptation. He really… mangled it. cryptkeeper laugh 

A singular, profoundly creepy sketch extrapolated into a lazy zombie flick. More taken away than added somehow. I might be kinder if I weren’t familiar with the source material. Usually you’re trimming but this is adding. Like 60% of this is whole cloth invented. What if every crevice of that story was given a beat? Oh, and it’s flash cut nu-metal obnoxious. I think there’s one or two episodes of this show that are like this but way less corny.

When I first saw this episode, I was underwhelmed. Upon this rewatch, I enjoyed it a lot more, but did have some issues. First the things I liked, Robert Englund’s performance was great fun. I also quite enjoyed the twist of this episode. As for the things that I did not like, they were mainly technical and stylistic choices. The editing seemed chaotic and it’s they keep doing this double vision thing throughout the whole episode which I did not like.
