I was at my local record shop the other week, they have great movie selection, and on a whim I picked up Kino's Deanna Durbin Collection despite never watching one of her movies before. I'm so glad I did because oh boy this movie was just so incredibly lovely. Durbin is just so wonderful, but Charles Laughton just absolutely steals the show (per usual). I was smiling the entire time, and one scene in particular had me tearing up because of the song they used. This is pretty much everything I want from an old comfort movie. Just lovely.
