i teared up nung nakita ko si lolo all “alone” sa care home, despite being in a room full of (foreign) people. mila u were his comfort & home & familiar feeling. but im sure he’s very happy for you :’)))))))) HUHU

i appreciated the experience of watching this na parang you can just tell there was a lot of joy involved in making the film (i watched this not realizing my mom is leaving for US bukas 😐 how fun)

Fulfilled to have had the restored version as my first viewing of Portes' 'Merika!

Understated drama about the longing for one's soil. Bembol Roco was amazing, but Nora Aunor's expressive performance was what made this film transcend.

Also pretty cool to note that the screenplay was made in 10 days with most of the film being guerilla shots in NYC, wala talagang imposible sa Pinoy!

I watched this after ‘Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos’ at Metropolitan Theatre. Super gets why Nora Aunor is thee superstar. Her range is seriously impressive!!
