Cohen definitely wanted this to be a good documentary so much. Unfortunately, we don't learn anything from it which is the whole purpose of a documentary. They're suppose to be informing the audience on a certain subject and while we do learn a little bit of Canadian history, most of the film is observations from celebrities and extremely forced humor from Cohen that didn't fit at all with the tone of the film.
Plus, one of Cohen's last lines of the movie states that he's been looking at Canada wrong. He's been looking at Canada's past but, all along, he should've been analyzing Canada today. So what he's basically saying is that I've wasted my time learning about Canada's past (to analyze how Canadians are) where I should've been looking at Canada today. I've just wasted 90 minutes of my life to hear that line. Thanks Cohen.
