Learning that Shirley Clarke was a dancer herself really made me enjoy this short film a lot more. She clearly understands how to move a camera to best showcase the work of the dancer and choreographer Daniel Nagrin as he dances in both his own studio and out on a sandy beach in the sun. The way she cuts between the two is clearly an experiment in motion across time and space for her and one that pays off well enough
