The TARDIS materialises inside an Aztec tomb. Outside it, the Doctor and his companions soon discover that Mexico in the 15th century is a bloodthirsty and dangerous place... And with Barbara mistaken for a reincarnation of an ancient high priest called Yetaxa, the history teacher thinks that she can put an end to the barbaric human sacrifices once and for all. Had one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time thanks to this episode. It’s actually not that bad but still quite gruelling for an 1hr 40. I really liked the doctors fiancé, also not Susan going to tradwife school and failing.

It’s so hard to look past the blatant racism and pro-colonialism view point in this one. But so far the actual plot, wasn’t terrible. The costume designs were really cool too.
