It's so bizarre to me that Capra made this movie in the middle of his run of highly successful socially conscious dramadies, this is just so incredibly different. The main praise I have is of the scale of the production and the surreal dreamlike tone that pervades through most of the movie. I did find it slow and wasn't super invested in the characters, but I definitely should give this another shot now that I actually know what I'm getting into.
