I will give this version some props for having decent voice acting (what are you doing here Tony Todd?) but the animation is so unfathomably ugly I can't even wrap my head around it. It's quite literally just a PlayStation 2 cutscene; which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if it were part of an actual PS2 game, rather than attempting to be a feature film. It's so low-poly, the lighting is terrible to the point that it's nearly impossible to see anything, and there are constant transitions with flashes of red and white which gives me a headache. Genuinely one of the ugliest things I've ever seen.
As for it being a modern re-imagination of the original concept, I can get behind it in theory, but this execuation was nowhere near good.
