Director- Mizoguchi Kenji.This is the second film I have seen of his and till now all of his works have been great.This work is quite short but is great and has several themes. The film is somewhat of a benchmark for Kdramas I have seen with its premise and twists.The protagonist is a girl forced to work as a geisha to sustain herself and her family. She meets an old guy who was one of her recurring customers. She didn't like him but still entertained him as she needed the work.She is also being romantically pursued by two guys who are best friends. Both are fighting to win over her love.One of the guys is the son of the old man and she learns in a twist that he's actually her father making the man pursuing her, her brother. This leads the guy to let go of pursuing her and she marries the other guy instead.The film is quite humorous with such material even though it may very well have been serious for its times.I have also found out that it is actually much longer but has been lost in the bygone eras.
