Lovely Complex, the manga and anime has held a special place in my heart since I was 12. As far as live action adaptations go I love this one, it’s very early 2000s but the fashion and colors are so much fun. I watched this in crispy 460p quality on YouTube for free which further elevated the nostalgia of it for me.

i'm sorry but this was too short to be a great adaptation but it was soo campy covering the y2k goodness. it was so whimsical and goofy with the random segments (both dating and teacher PPC). my girl risa really experienced the psychosis aspect of crushing on a man, RIP! Don't argue with me but Otani has the rizz and aura of a 5'11 man ofcourse she was hooked. the english narration is both random but fitting ?? make it make sense

The compression of storylines and changes aside. i really didn't like how Nobu-chan was portrayed omg her wardrobe was hideous, they also did nakao-chi dirty. alsooo did not love how we didn't get their dating arc. All the chasing and psychosis we experienced 2nd hand across all media (manga, anime and live-action) just for minimal fluff.
