My expectations going in to this was quite low. It doesn't really have great ratings and everyone is calling it a boring remake of a classic.

Now i haven't seen any other version of this story so I can't compare it to any of them. But i can say that I really really enjoyed this movie. It was really what i needed right now. Being that is January and everything Else going on roght now, a fun swashbuckling light hearted movie is just what you need.

This movie doesn't take it self seriously. It's far from realistic and it's no cinematic masterpiece. But it's extremely fun. It allows it self to just have fun sword fights and the humor in this movie is actually very funny. It also has some surprisingly cool sets and overall it seems to be quite a big budgeted movie. It's at least bigger than i expected it to be. It definitely appeals to the 10 year old in me, but that's fine. I like just having fun with a movie.

It's extremely fast paced and that constant cuts can be a little jarring. The critic in me definitely has a few issues with the movie, but i don't really care. This was a movie meant to be enjoyed so i did.

Now i will be honest and say that it might now be deserving of the rating i have given, but I'm gonna keep it this way. Because despite it's flaws i legitimately think it's better than it's ratings. This movie deserves some love and recognition. Honestly, I could see myself revisiting this whenever I'm in need of some light hearted adventures fun.
