Fun slasher with a comfy, spooky atmosphere. Love the design of the killers, and the retro look of the film which made the gore look even better. I also really liked the friendship between the final guys. The pacing is a bit wobbly at times, but that’s just one miss against so many hits. This is probably my fave indie horror film.

Atmosphere is awesome gives you a nostalgic vibe of an 80’s horror film the chemistry between leads is on point just a fun watch every single time

I’m not going to nitpick on the many issues this movie has that are simply due to it being a very low budget production because this felt like a R-rated disney channel movie and I loved it.
I’m a sucker for anything Halloweeny right now and this really hit the spot. The lore and plot felt so classic Halloween and the same goes for the costumes and set design.
I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular slasher wise but damn this was a massacre, awesome practical effects and really fun kills.
Super cheesy and sometimes laughably bad acting and writing but I had a lot of fun.

so this film has been sitting in my watchlist for quite sometime now and since it is the month of october i thought that i should finally sit down and give it a watch since it does revolve around the halloween holiday and see if i potentially find a new favorite film around that season and let’s just say that after i finished this one that i don’t have anything positive to say about it because it was such an absolute mess of a film from start to finish and don’t get me wrong there are some low budget horror films out there that are underrated gems but this one was just not in that category because i just feel like they could have done so much more with the story that we were given in this one instead of giving us this dogpile of crap like i felt as though that they could have written it a bit better but atleast they gave us a little info on each of the 3 villains in this one and what each of their purposes were in the film because i will say that i did love each of their designs but that’s about it for me and then moving onto the characters in this one and how much i really hated each and every single one of them like none of them had any redeeming or interesting qualities about them and were kind of just there for you to see be murdered so when it did come time for all of that you felt no sympathy for any of them because of how bland they were all written to be and then moving onto the kills in this one and i’ve got to say that im someone who always says that in awful horror films like this one that the kills are always gonna be the main thing that ends up saving it but that was certainly not the case for this film because why were the kills for the people that were in the main friend group so fucking lame like it was just either a quick close up of their frightened expressions on their faces while some blood splatters onto the screen or your usual offscreen kills and the only kills that weren’t lame i guess you could say were ones that took place at the halloween gathering where the 3 just full on went on a massacre but even still they weren’t all that great but decent ones and the 2 last things that i’ll say about this one is that the acting was so bad to point that it had me cringing at my television from how horribly said each of the lines that were given to cast were being said with no single emotion into it like i’ve seen pornos with better acting in them and also you could tell that this one was trying to go for that 1980s vibe but they did such a horrible job at it because none of them were giving like they just walked out of the 80s and the only thing that was even remotely reference to that time period was the characters throwing around random 80s sayings that would come out at the most random moments in the film so that’s pretty much my review on this snoozefest of a film.

Trick ‘r Treat meets Friday the 13th with a touch of All Hallows’ Eve. Admirable dedication to honoring 80s slashers, from the unbelievable line delivery and ooey gooey gore to the film grain and needlessly complicated legend backstory. Feels exactly like what you’d slap on after trick-or-treating on a school night. Every actor is giving it their all, whatever “it” is. What… would your FATHER think… if he were STILL. ALIVE?!!?!
