This sequel outperforms its predecessor and truly peaked with SALVAGE — my favorite of the anthology. The film then plays out with the comedic, IN THE END, which I also enjoyed. A rare feat for a film (especially in horror anthologies) to be stronger in its second half than its first (NOVICE and WARD). The weakest of the bunch has to be BACKPACKERS despite being absolutely horrified by its premise. I genuinely gasped by the shot and implication of this father-son duo unloading over two dozen bodies and scattering them all over an open field like rubbish. I wish it leaned more into this setup rather than the laughable resurrected zombie narrative.
