Junction 48 was a very powerful film, especially given what is currently happening to the Palestinian people. I really enjoyed the cinematography and thought it visually depicted their oppression well, often shooting characters through fences, trapping them within the frame. The wide shot of them sitting on the couch within the destroyed house stuck with me. I have seen many videos online of Palestinian homes being destroyed so I found the entire subplot to be very powerful. I wished we got to see more of it, as my main issue with the film was I thought there was too much going on with not enough time so storylines felt underdeveloped and unfinished. Another moment that stuck with me was the funeral scene and seeing how even with their grief their fight for justice never waivers. The line ““the memories he passed on to me are stronger than the history that they are trying to destroy” moved me as we are all sitting at home watching the real time destruction of Palestine.
