I read the whole Ripley series last year, and I think I would have enjoyed this movie more if I hadn’t, but there are so many key scenes that are just completely missing. Like, uhm, Ripley getting buried alive and digging himself out! Eloise finding Bernard’s dead body in the cellar! They also just completely removed his sexual ambiguity (imo he’s asexual) and make him very much straight.
One extra star for the beautiful orange Kartell fl/y light.
