How do i even begin, it’s unbelievable bad and from start to finish i tried so hard to see it from a different perspective. I did manage to write notable moments that unfortunately still can’t saved this movie.
Takagi using his trick to get the suspects fingerprint, Ran’s story about umbrella that Shinichi lent it to her. (The placement of this scene is questionable to me, they should put it before the ending, not post credit shenanigans). I would also mention that this movie ost greatly captures the essence of what pirate should sound like.
Doesn’t mean they can conveyed it on a movie.
That’s it. Now onto the bad things.
See, a bad movie can be funny at times. This case in particular came straight out feeling like a Saturday filler episode that can be solved less than a whole movie runtime. It’s rushed then gave us action pirate-esque sequences that i assume are mandatory. Might be cause it’s a popular thing in 2000’s.
The so called “Pirate Hunters” came up with insane plans that didn’t make any sense. These guys jumping from attempted murder, robbing then kidnapping without any substance.
Final act, using Sonoko as a bait, and proceed to get jumped by Conan and Ran. The setup of 2 breathing apparatus that Agasa invented was weirdly placed, and swept away in the final moments. All of them resubmerged with that pirate ship and SUBMERGES AGAIN MINUTES LATER HOLY ( I wouldn’t wanna touch this movie ever again 😭)
