This may seem like a pretty random pick for Hooptober, but the honest reason why it was picked is because it was already in one of my Karloff blu-ray sets.
I thought it was pretty good. The two leads here (Sally Forrest and Richard Stapley) are definitely kind of dull, but obviously Laughton and Karloff are the main attractions anyways . Some of these old b horror movies start to drag a little bit for me after 80 mins but this one used the runtime well.
Other Notes/Thoughts: Laughton's character is definitely gay coded and he establishes it pretty quickly. I will not spoil with character details, but one of the deaths near the end was surprisingly brutal. Needed more Karloff. Voltan is my GOAT.
