A woman is seduced by and cast aside by a fickle lover. When the lover marries another woman who starts hallucinating during their wedding, she is accused of being a witch and thrown to her death over a cliff. A strange man rescues her, nurses her back to health, and is told that she must master black magic in order to exact vengeance on her tormentors. She casts a variety of spells over the populace--with the male population as her favorite target, and becomes the queen of black magic. But who, exactly, is the man, and does he have other plans?

Now this one had campy charm with some pretty good practical gore that's always nice to see. The queen of black magic is just so entertaining especially from the lead actress Suzanna and an interesting look at black magic. This Indonesian 80s horror movie has charm. Firstly Suzanna who plays Murni is great and the best part of the movie. Her character and story is just entertaining and fun. Her revenge is done well too and in a pretty fun practical gorey way. The character of permana was interesting too and the twist at the end was a little soap operaey but it has its charms. One other thing that was interesting was seeing a black magic story from a different religion. It doesn't go deep but it's done in a way that makes me say cool I didn't know that. The deaths were a bright spot too. I like the reason for revenge and the training to be the queen of black magic was different than expected. I didn't know you need yo be able to backflip naked become one. The deaths especially the self decapitation was my favorite. The queen of black magic is just a blast. The revenge story and lead actress is engaging to watch. The gore gloriously practical and it's just a good time.
